10 Movies Today's Teens 'Need' Less Than Love, Simon
9. Jigsaw
This reboot of the torture porn franchise brought everything awful about the genre right back to the big screen, in an attempt to reel in a new generation of teens for its audience.
But it falls victim to all the same lame-brain horror stereotypes and cliches that this series has indulged in for years. Every race and gender is reduced to little more than a one-dimensional, cardboard cutout who is defined by their physical traits rather than anything more meaningful.
It's also just a really dumb movie, as most of these films have been. In an age where audiences are getting incredibly well-crafted horror films with great characters and meticulous plotting, today's teens could not 'need' anything less. Films like Get Out and It have proven that horror is in the process of taking huge steps forward and away from the trash that populated the last decade.
This movie is a product of a bygone age that simply doesn't work anymore and thankfully, today's teens didn't fall for the hattrick.
