1. Lewis Commits Rape By Deception - Revenge Of The Nerds

Revenge of the Nerds is one of the most iconic comedies of the 1980s, yet also one that unveils a disconcerting undercurrent if revisited today.

The mostly-hilarious film features a troubling sequence in which protagonist Lewis Skolnick (Robert Carradine) dons the Darth Vader outfit belonging to jock douchebag Stan (Ted McGinley), and promptly uses it to have sex with Stan's girlfriend Betty (Julie Montgomery).

To be clear, Betty is completely unaware of the trick, yet after Lewis reveals his true identity, his rape-by-deception is entirely downplayed because Betty appears to have enjoyed it. Yikes.

To make matters even more problematic, Betty becomes Lewis' wife and mother to his children later in the series, yet it's sadly all tainted by an instigating act which isn't merely creepy or sleazy - it's literally criminal.

In a series of films otherwise defined by their playful goofiness and celebration of a piled-on subculture, it's depressing to see the nerds' glorious leader so brazenly outed as a sexual predator. Not good.
