10 Movies We Desperately Wanted To Happen (But Never Will)

9. Double V Vega

From one iconic director to another, with Quentin Tarantino’s long planned Double V Vega. Tarantino famously toys with various ideas, but it does appear this one has been shelved for good.

It was a story of the Vega brothers, Vic & Vincent. The pair starred separately in Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction, played by Michael Madsen and John Travolta respectively. They remain two of Tarantino’s most iconic characters, and as some of his earliest creations, are undoubtedly close to his heart.

The biggest factor here, as both Travolta and Tarantino have spoken of in the past, is age.

Both characters die in their movies, so Double V Vega would need to be a prequel. Given the actors have aged 25 years since then, it could no longer be Madsen and Travolta, while Tarantino has stated he wouldn’t consider recasting.

Other rumours from Tarantino, like Kill Bill 3, his medieval movie or his Star Trek project, may yet materialise. Hype for Kill Bill has bounced up and down over the years, while Helen Mirren was allegedly in talks for the medieval movie; although this was prior to Django Unchained. Star Trek is the most recent movie on the horizon, and Tarantino may well boldly go there soon.
