10 Movies Weirdly Changed (Nobody Knows Why)

2. Disney's Scared Of Butts - Splash

Despite having a PG rating, hit fantasy-comedy Splash received a digital edit which would be hilarious were it not such a sad indictment of Disney's pathetic allergy to bare human flesh.

Early in the movie, Daryl Hannah's mermaid character Madison runs into the sea after kissing protagonist Allen (Tom Hanks), offering audiences a brief view of her behind as she does so.

Except, for the Disney+ release, the House of Mouse decided to add additional digital hair to fully cover Hannah's posterior, lest today's youth be corrupted by the decidedly not-sexualised sight of a bottom.

And while you might've assumed that the original version of the scene included a full-cheeked butt flash, that's not the case at all.

Even in the original scene, Hannah's modesty is already covered relatively well by her hair, enough that one could easily assume that the original version was the censored one.

It didn't help matters that the CGI edit was extremely naff-looking, as though Hannah was wearing a pair of fur shorts, ensuring it was easily spotted by fans of the comedy classic.

Thankfully Disney relented in 2022 and restored the original shot.
