10 Movies We're Surprised Directors Haven't Made Yet

7. Unbreakable II - M. Night Shyamalan

CORRECT UnbreakableThe Movie: The next chapter in the superhero war between David (Bruce Willis) and Elijah (Samuel L. Jackson) that kicked off in the original movie. Why It Hasn't Been Made: Rumours have circulated for years that this would happen, though the film's "poor" box office performance ("only" making its budget back three-fold) put this in doubt for a long time. Willis and Jackson were both keen to return, though Shyamalan said back in 2010 that some ideas he had for Unbreakable 2 were now being moved into an independent story. The real problem seems to be Shyamalan's belief that he's still telling worthwhile stories; After Earth, his latest release, was a reprehensible pile of garbage, and the sooner he realises that he's better off expanding his universes that did work - not that there's many of them - the better. The more his name gets dragged through the mud, and the more box office bombs he produces, the less likely this one is to ever get made.
