10 Movies Whose CinemaScores Make No Sense

9. Fight Club

Inception Leonardo DiCaprio
20th Century Fox

CinemaScore: B-

Inexplicably David Fincher's amazing Fight Club did not greatly impress the people who provided its CinemaScore.

Fight Club was never a huge box office smash, but it was beloved by critics and fans which makes its mediocre grade surprising. The movie is still fondly talked about 20 years after its release and has been the subject of countless film study essays.

Perhaps the first-day audience saw the word 'fight' and felt it was going to be a Rocky-like movie without as much emphasis on deep mental health issues. Also, the film's satire on capitalism may have not been welcomed by everybody.

The stylish production design, strong performances and the good twist should have carried this movie to at least an A- even if you disagree with its messages.
