10 Movies With Ridiculous Endings

5. The Dark Knight Rises

The Dark Knight Rises centres on Gotham eight years after Batman's conflict with Joker. Thanks to events in the previous film, Batman was no longer needed, and so Bruce Wayne kept to himself in his mansion whilst Wayne Enterprises suffered financially by his inability to consent to a potentially weaponisable project.

Batman is forced out of hiding, however, when Bane systematically takes over Gotham. He bankrupts Bruce Wayne, uses this stolen money to finance his own personal army and traps the entire of Gotham PD below ground.

And to think Bane isn't even the main villain of the film. No, this title belongs to new Wayne Enterprise CEO Miranda Tate, or Talia al Ghul, who intends to blow up the city.

However, no matter how incredible the film was, there are a couple of things we cannot forgive.

Firstly, the villains were killed off in such underwhelming ways. Bane, the true badass of the film, is just shot by Catwoman and flies off-screen, and Talia dies in what is basically a car crash. Secondly, there is no chance that Batman survived that nuclear explosion. Sorry, but he didn't.

They say endings are the hardest part to write and this film definitely proves that theory.
