10 Movies With Surprisingly High Body Counts

2005's action adventure starring Matthew McConaughey and Penelope Cruz ultimately under-performed at the box office.

The loose plot and sometimes questionable acting meant it was never going to be a classic, but for a film aimed largely at family audiences, it still managed a heft body count.

Sahara surprises everyone with just shy of 70 deaths.

As with a host of big budget films, the majority of the body count in Sahara can be found as the film reaches its climax, with a number of 'dramatic' explosions putting paid to a number of characters in the film, some more important than others.

Most of the body count in Sahara feels a bit pointless, and while Dirk gets his hands on main antagonist Zakara come the end, special effects take most of the cast in this one.
