2. Pacific Rim
Robots versus aliens. Nothing should have gone wrong. Except falling to every cliché and predictable plot point imaginable. We already had Transformers and Battleship, so what was so different about this one - why was I supposed to enjoy it? Because it was suppose to be an adult version of those, I guess: something that took itself seriously. But that never happened. I did like most of the cast, they were great. Special Effects were great. The concept, not story nor plot, but concept, was fun. There's no reason why it shouldn't have drawn me in. I know some people found some value in the film, but I didn't get it. Pacific Rim was a letdown. It didn't really provide anything new to the simple concept. Maybe next time, if there is a next time, I might have a reason to stick around for a second go in a movie that every part of my mind should have enjoyed.
