10 Movies You Could've Watched Instead Of Campaigning For The Snyder Cut
3. The Rock
Michael Bay might be someone you'd hate to be sitting next to at a dinner party, but he did make damn fine movies in the 90's. The utilization of Nicholas Cage, Sean Connery, Michael Biehn and Ed Harris is like a chef working with the finest ingredients- and you cannot fault a damn thing in this movie.
If your plan was to tune in to Justice League for campy OTT action, you could have looked no further than The Rock. A hostage rescue mission at a tourist attraction is enough to get us fixed on this film - but when the movie gives us a scene of Sean Connery barrel-rolling through fiery ovens, we know this isn't your standard 90's action film.
Fans of The Rock might be showing their age a bit when they utter the phrase "they don't make movies like this anymore" but the truth is, no studio is making movies like this anymore.
With the exception of the Fast & Furious films, or the short run of Expendables flicks that occurred a few years back - the concept of hyper flamboyant shootouts and character deaths, played to electric guitar solos, emphasize a fist pump moment you don't get today.
