During the Quidditch World Cup sequence in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, it's incredibly easy to miss the fact that two house elves make split-second cameo appearances.

While Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) and co. are walking through the extremely busy camp grounds, for just a few frames it's possible to spot two house elves riding along on top of llamas.

Fans have since theorised that the elves could be Dobby and Winky, the latter of whom appeared in the books but was otherwise cut out of the films entirely.

Then again, it's surely far more likely that they're just two unknown house elves rather than fleeting fan-serving cameos. If nothing else, Dobby would stop and speak to Harry, no?

Whatever the truth, the sneaky house elves are still a huge surprise even to fans who've seen the film dozens, hundreds, or - gasp - thousands of times.
