10 Movies You Should Refuse To Watch On Moral Grounds
3. The Passion Of The Christ
What else is The Passion of the Christ other than a feature length attempt to lambast the Jewish population? You might argue that it has some artistic merit, but writer/director Mel Gibson's intentions are anything but subtle; he made the movie as a means of attack, to ignite a war, to offer up his own twisted and very racist thoughts on the subject matter. Whether or not The Passion is a "good" or "well-made" movie matters not; it is not an even-handed account of the death of Christ, after all (if such a thing were possible), but one drenched in all the bigotry and anti-Semitism that it is possible to squeeze into a film running less than two hours. As a result, there are arguably fewer movies in existence as primed to leave such an awful taste in your mouth as this one; it was created to insight hate. And yet it is possible to not play into Gibson's game; just don't watch it. Ever.
