10 Movies You Should Refuse To Watch On Moral Grounds

2. Auschwitz

There is arguably no human being on Earth less equipped to handle the horrors of the Holocaust in cinematic terms than Uwe Boll; why did the man behind motion picture travesties such as BloodRayne and House of the Dead and Blubberella decide that he was the right person to render an account of the 20th century's darkest historical atrocity? So, of course, Auschwitz is a terrible, terrible movie, and one that needs never to be seen by another living soul; awkwardly staged, ill-judged and - for the most part - incredibly dull. Whilst it's true that Boll may have attempted to be somewhat "serious" with the material at hand, the picture still comes across as wholly exploitative; that's to say, it's Uwe Boll making a movie about the holocaust because "hey, look, Uwe Boll is making a movie about the holocaust!" On that basis alone, Auschwitz has morally wrong written all over it. Avoid.
