10 Movies You Wrongly Thought Were Innovators

3. Daredevil Had A Post Credit Tease Before Iron Man Did

Before Marvel came around post credit scenes were quite rare, and instead of teasing a sequel they were either a random bonus scene, or a little gag. The MCU soon made an artform out of these stingers with Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk, using them to build hype for The Avengers, which was a full four years away at the time.

It was a crafty move, though it wasn’t the first comic book movie to try this. The 2003 version of Daredevil – which Ben Affleck has since dubbed the only movie he truly regrets making – featured a quick scene during the credits, revealing the fate of Colin Farrell’s Bullseye.

After getting shot in both hands and being tossed out of a window by Daredevil, it’s revealed he survived his ordeal and is painfully recovering in hospital. He gets bothered by an annoying fly, and grabs a nearby pen, pinning it to the wall. This set up the character’s eventual return for a future movie, but since a sequel never happened, this tease was for nought.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
