10 Musicians Who Are Actually Good Actors

1. Barbra Streisand

From a simple look at the stats, Streisand wins this one hands down. She has two Oscars, one for acting and one for her music. While maintaining her primary career as a musician, she has been able to become just as renowned for her acting work, a career spanning five decades and every genre imaginable.

After establishing herself as a singer, Streisand made a swift leap in front of the camera, and got off to a roaring start. Her film debut, 1968’s Funny Girl, won her a boatload of awards, including the Oscar for best leading actress, and turned her into hot property for her comedic chops and relatability.

She’s great in weepies like The Way We Were and Beaches, and has utilised her light touch in later films like Meet The Fockers and The Guilt Trip, neither of which are great films (or even good ones!) but feature sterling work from Babs.

Indeed empirically speaking she has one of the best filmographies full stop, let alone for someone whose thespian work is a mere diversion from the day job.
