10 Must-See Comedy Horror Films For Halloween

9. Young Frankenstein

Young Frankenstein is a 1974 comedy directed by Mel Brooks and starring Gene Wilder as Dr. Frederick Frankenstein, a descendent of the infamous Victor Frankenstein. Although this entry is much more comedy than horror, it is a spoof of an old favourite in the horror genre and the classic horror film genre in general, with plenty for horror fans to appreciate. Young Frankenstein should appeal to anyone with a childish sense of humour and anyone who appreciates Mel Brooks' other films (Space Balls, Blazing Saddles, Robin Hood: Men In Tights). The film frequently appears in lists of top comedy films of all time and in 2003 it was deemed "culturally, historically or aesthetically significant" by the United States National Film Preservation Board. In other words, it's a classic and you should watch it.

Created in a petri dish in an underground lab, I was originally designed by scientists to carry out high-profile assassinations for the CIA. Unfortunately, something went wrong and my only skill was writing list-based articles. So now I do that instead.
