9. The Men Who Stare At Goats

So the premise of this bizarre tale is that Clooney (sporting a very flatteringtache) is supposedly a 'Jedi Knight' of the US Army fighting out in the Middle East and as such, and can kill a goat with the power of his mind. It sounds quite funny, and yet... TMWSAG is a classic case of 'all the funny parts are in the trailer' - and it's a shame because those funny parts would have made me laugh during the film - if I'd not seen them already. It loses pace when the novelty of the mustaches wear off, Ewan McGregor becomes increasingly annoying and Kevin Spacey's bad guy is completely underplayed. The Jedi theme barely holds together a thin plot that even a phenomenal cast can't make worth while. For a title so quirky and interesting, the film as a whole really does fall flat on its face. There's also a serious lack of on-screen Goat time.
