6. See You Yesterday

See You Yesterday is the beautiful debut story of grief and love from writer-director Stefon Bristol. It follows two teenagers working on a secret project in their spare time: backpacks that can travel through time. But when one of their older brothers is killed, they put their experiments to the test and the race is on to save his life.

The concept and CGI is nostalgically reminiscent of classic '80s sci-fi. Despite getting muddled with rules as all time travel movies do, See You Yesterday is ultimately a story of grief and loss. In a nuanced and clever way, Bristol teaches the audience a lesson, by saying that it isn't how we change the past but how we carry on into the future.

See You Yesterday is a heart-warming sci-fi movie for the whole family, nuanced and nostalgic enough for the parents while being fun and inspirational for younger viewers. With brilliant lead performances, sharp humour and unmissable style, See You Yesterday is the perfect cathartic sci-fi experience for all ages.

If you have clicked on here, get ready to be bored. I'm just a 20 year old white male who has a (probably) unhealthy obsession with pop culture Film and TV. Handy in a trivia game but not much else. My parents were never murdered, I'm not avenging my dead wife. Just plain, old sat at a computer with a head full of knowledge I mostly don't use I was born and raised in the Black Country near Birmingham, England however am now living in Manchester, England after I moved here two years ago. I currently attend the University of Salford, studying Broadcast Journalism. That's it really. Told you there was nothing special. If you're really that desperate for something to do, follow me on socials. Yes, I do like that ego boost.
