Without any shadow of a doubt, the character everyone is most looking forward to seeing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the Sorcerer Supreme Doctor Strange. Strange was name-dropped (as "Stephen Strange") in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and, ever since then, fans of the franchise have been eagerly anticipating his arrival. So, when his titular movie was announced last week, the buzz for him was crazy. In the comic books, he was an arrogant surgeon who lost the use of his hands in an accident and, desperate to continue his career, he sought out several solutions - culminating is seeking out the Ancient One in the Himalayas. The Ancient One refused to help him, saying he would not assist him for selfish reasons but, seeing good in him, offered him the chance to become his magical apprentice. Strange was a quick learner and he became an accomplished sorcerer and a very powerful hero. The introduction of a magical hero is exciting in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and seeing him offering up a new kind of power to the forces of good will be cool as hell in live action. He might even join Black Bolt and some existing Marvel Cinematic Universe characters in a live action Illuminati.
