9. The Matrix Sequels
A good bit went wrong in the Matrix sequels but a good bit went right as well and the last two matrix movies (particularly the Matrix Reloaded) are perhaps a bit unfairly maligned. The Wachowski's got a little carried away with their philosophical ideas but its not everyday that a big budget blockbuster even attempts to even attempt pursuing the amount of ideas they were trying to fit in. The Matrix sequels upped the ante interms of scale, throwing more and more foes at Neo and humanity, creating some extremely impressive battle sequences, even if they lacked the originality of the original. I might be the only one but I actually liked the reveal at the end or Reloaded with the Architect revealing the secret past of the Matrix. The Matrix Reloaded remains an underrated film although it lacks the tightly wound narrative of the original. The Matrix Revolutions is a little less defensible due to its lack of focus and it being a bit anticlimactic, but it still deserves some praise for its ambition.
