10 Notoriously Bad Movies With A Single Redeeming Feature

8. Airplane Rescue - Superman Returns

Superman Returns

When it was announced that Bryan Singer would take a shot at a sort-of belated sequel to Superman II in the wake of his much greater X-Men movies, fans of the world's most famous superhero sat up and said: "Okay, that's cool. Show us what you got, Bryan Singer... we have faith in you." Who knew that Singer would eventually turn out would be such a shambling mess of ideas, though? What did we do to deserve such a strange and unfocused hodgepodge of ideas and concepts? Worst still, why didn't they just make this thing a reboot inside of a continuation? Still, in amongst all the bad that circles Superman Returns, there is a single sequence that stands out - an action sequence, mind, in a movie that doesn't really have all that many action sequences, and one that demonstrated to audiences how awesome this movie could have been had they tightened their grip on the material and employed a bit of focus. I'm talking about the airplane rescue scene, of course, which feels like it's been ripped from another, better movie entirely. This is the part where Superman kind of lets the world knows he's back, preventing a falling plane from devastation, and bringing it to halt in a baseball stadium with style.
