3. American Graffiti
UniversalDespite the fact that American Graffiti looks like it was a blast to film, an easy, laid-back movie with just a bunch of twenty-somethings have fun, there was actually quite a bit of havoc being wreaked behind the scenes. Before filming even starting, a main member of the crew was arrested for growing marijuana. After only one night of shooting, the city of San Rafael got nervous after complaints from local business owners and revoked their permit to film. Several cast members including Harrison Ford, Bo Hopkins, and Le Mat were frequently drunk between takes, with one actually setting fire to Lucas's hotel room. But one night, the cast's wild parties began to affect the film, when Le Mat threw Richard Dreyfuss into a pool, giving him a nasty gash on his forehead the day before he was supposed to have all of his close-ups filmed. If that wasn't enough, Harrison Ford actually managed to get himself arrested after getting involved in a bar brawl, and two camera members almost got killed while filming the iconic race scene in the film. So sure, maybe nobody died, but this film sounds like it was a major headache for Lucas to create.
