2. Kid Eternity
There was a period at DC comics when the editors decided to let a host of new talent (mostly folks from the UK) have carte blanche over characters no one really cared about, let alone remembered. One of those characters was Kid Eternity, who insane wunderkind Grant Morrison shaped into a spectral horror story of metaphysical proportions. But even if you didn't do the nightmarish version Morrison championed, the original conceit of Kid Eternity still would make for a great movie. A youngster (simply known as Kid or The Kid) is killed 75 years before he was supposed to die. When he gets to heaven, he's told that a mistake has been made and that he will be returned to Earth with the guarantee that he will be immortal for 75 years, if he uses his life to help others. Tagging along with him is the otherworldly Mister Keeper whose mistake led to Kid's death. Returning to Earth, the Kid is given the ability to summon beings by saying the word, "Eternity!" This includes both dead people and fictional characters. Can you see a movie where in order to figure out a crime, the Kid summons up Sherlock Holmes to help? Or in order to battle incoming foes he calls up King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table? The possibilities are endless with a character like this which makes him a prime candidate for the movies. Plus, Kid Eternity is a heck of a catchy title.
