10 Obscure Superheroes That Badly Need A Movie Treatment

4. Mister Miracle

With Guardians of the Galaxy, Marvel is ramping up towards getting spacey and weird with their movieverse. If DC is smart, they'll pull out their own space epic (created by Marvel hero Jack Kirby no less!) known as the New Gods. The story of rival planets New Genesis and Apokolips is filled with amazing characters like Orion and Darkseid, but the one they should use to introduce audiences to this vast mythology is Mister Miracle. In order to create peace between the warring worlds, their leaders traded children as part of their treaty. Young Scott Free was taken and raised on the hellish world of Apokolips (ruled by the despot Darkseid), forced to endure brutal torture and subjected to a gauntlet of horrors. It was here that he found he had a natural talent for escape artistry and became the Universe's greatest escapologist. He fell in love with one of Darkseid's warriors, Big Barda, and because of his indomitable will and good nature, won her over. They escaped to Earth where he took on the mantle of a circus performer named Mister Miracle. The movie that is there to made wouldn't even require superhero antics or flashy costumes. Scott Free's origin is so cinematic in nature and a perfect way to introduce the greater scope of the New Gods. It's too bad Darksied shares some resemblance to Thanos, making our chances of seeing any of the New Gods slimmer with each passing movie.
