10 Obvious Movie Bloopers We Can't Believe We Missed First Time
1. Éomer’s Sword - The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers
This is one of the most easily missed movie mistakes that you can imagine. So much so that, for once, you can forgive the filmmakers for not doing anything about it. Evidently, even Peter Jackson's illustrious and acclaimed Lord of the Rings trilogy isn't immune to mistakes. However, whether anybody actually spotted it at the time is an open question.
When Éomer first meets Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli, he lends them two horses before going on his way. When he mounts his own horse again though, his sword slips from his belt and onto the ground. It happens so quickly that you barely notice, not helped by the shot panning up almost immediately after. Whether that was meant to happen or was down to some quick thinking from whoever was behind the camera, we don't know.
The fact that Éomer's sword falls without a sound might suggest that the filmmakers did notice this after all, and edited the noise out during post-production. But, if they did notice it, then why they didn't just reshoot the entire scene to eliminate the mistake entirely is a mystery. Whatever the reason, this takes the biscuit as one of the most obscure movie mistakes that you somehow never noticed.
