2. Karl's Resurrection - Die Hard

The Lord of the Rings The Two Towers Sword Mistakes
20th Century Fox

Karl is the man who just won't die, hard or otherwise. The hero John McClane (Bruce Willis) strangles and apparently kills the terrorist group's second-in-command, only for Karl to appear right at the end of the film and attempt to kill McClane again. Their prior fight is bloody and brutal, with Karl almost getting the better of McClane. To make matters worse, Karl is actually up and walking again far sooner than he realises.

After trying to get one up on McClane, who killed Karl's brother, the unfortunate henchman finds himself strangled by a massive iron chain that McClane wraps around his neck, allowing McClane to get away. Karl is seemingly killed, making it all the more mysterious that he appears ever so briefly in the background of another shot of McClane immediately after he's been subdued. It is difficult to spot him at the first time of asking, but you clearly see him making a hasty exit.

Assuming that Karl isn't having an out-of-body experience in his final moments, this looks like a fairly criminal editing error on the filmmakers' part. He isn't walking so much when he is finally killed by Officer Powell (Reginald VelJohnson) right at the film's climax.
