10 Obvious Movie Bloopers We Can't Believe We Missed First Time

9. The Pre-Recorded Video Call - Jurassic Park

Dennis Nedry, played by Wayne Knight, is the main human antagonist in Jurassic Park. He is willing to throw the safety of his colleagues and his workplace under the bus to claw himself out of debt. Central to his scheme is his getaway driver, waiting down by the Isla Nublar docks. In one scene, Nedry speaks to him over comms while watching him on a security camera. At least, that's what it is supposed to look like.

Something that isn't glaringly obvious at first is the little time bar along the bottom of the video, indicating that this message is in fact pre-recorded rather than a live feed. This is an evident mistake since Nedry is very much speaking to his co-conspirator in real-time. The mistake is fairly infuriating once you finally notice it. Perhaps this can be put down to how relatively primitive video calling technology was in the 1990s, if indeed this is even what it can be called.

In any case, it doesn't do Nedry any good. He is eaten by a dilophosaurus, which also ensures that the genetic samples Nedry steals are lost to the island. At least he doesn't need to worry about his debt anymore.
