10 Oddly Specific Genres That Were Briefly Hugely Popular

9. Dwayne Johnson Is A Khaki-Wearing Man Of Action, Usually In The Jungle

To be fair, this one's still going on and the man is currently the most popular and highest-paid movie star in the world, but for some reason it appears that Dwayne Johnson has carefully constructed an entire sub-genre around kicking a whole lot of a** on the big screen while wearing the plainest clothes imaginable, usually in a tropical setting.

This dates back to one of his earliest leading roles in 2003's severely underrated The Rundown, and it appears as though he liked the wardrobe choice so much that he's kept it up ever since. Since then, he's sported similar attire in Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, San Andreas, both Jumanji movies, Rampage, Skyscraper, the upcoming Jungle Cruise, and even gave his tried-and-trusted ensemble a camouflaged twist in G.I. Joe: Retaliation.

Given his incredible work ethic and the rate at which he's constantly pumping out these big budget blockbusters on at least an annual basis, surely it's only a matter of time until he's torn his way through every beige item in the industry's entire costume department.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
