Though Loki (Tom Hiddleston) first worked for Thanos in The Avengers, he spent the movie communicating with the Mad Titan through an intermediary, The Other (Alexis Denisof).

As such, the audience is never actually shown the moment where Loki and the Mad Titan meet for the first time, which surely would've made for a more compelling introduction.

Some fans have speculated that Thanos may have been the one to rescue Loki after he fell from the broken Bifrost Bridge at the end of Thor, though however they ended up becoming acquainted, it sure would be interesting to witness.

At least with the upcoming Loki TV series, which will focus on the 2012 Loki seen in Endgame, there's the possibility we could see a variation of that fateful first meeting between the Trickster God and the Mad Titan.
