10 Opening Horror Movie Scenes That Changed Everything

5. Bride Of Chucky

For the first three films, the sole villain of the Child's Play series was Charles Lee Ray, aka Chucky. However, the fourth movie in the series - Ronny Yu's Bride of Chucky - used its opening scene two introduce audiences to a second antagonist in the form of Jennifer Tilly's Tiffany Valentine.

In the time since then, Tiffany (and Tilly as herself) has gone on to become a hugely popular character, being a key figure in Bride's Seed of Chucky follow-up, have a fun cameo in Curse of Chucky, return fully for Cult of Chucky, and be part of the impressive ensemble that makes up Syfy's fantastic Chucky TV series.

That Bride of Chucky opening scene sees Tiff - who is the ex-lover of Charles Lee Ray - gain possession of Chucky's remains and rebuild the nefarious Good Guy doll. Before long, she herself is murdered (by Chucky, obvs) and has her spirit trapped in its own doll, and both the Tiffany doll and Tilly playing a skewed version of herself have been magnificent additions to the Child's Play franchise; something that all started with the opening moments of Bride of Chucky back in 1998.
