10 Original Cuts Of Horror Movies We'll Sadly Never See
1. Cherry Falls (Uncensored Version)
Of all the post-modern slasher films that were ushered in by the success of Scream, none have proved as interesting or enduring as Cherry Falls.
This whip-smart and hugely entertaining slasher film was infamously denied a theatrical release in the US due to its inflammatory and confrontational content that involved teenagers. It was eventually passed over to the USA Network, who promptly removed all of the carnage and sexual content, leaving the finished film feeling a little anemic compared to its contemporaries.
Set in the titular town of Cherry Falls, a serial killer begins targetting virgins at the local high school. This promptly sends the students into a frenzy, who all rush to do the horizontal monster-mash before they too end up on the chopping block.
Those who saw the original cut of Cherry Falls proclaimed it to be a highly violent and provocative film, but one that never failed to have its tongue planted firmly in its cheek.
Companies such as 88 Films and Shout Factory tried their very best to source the cut footage for their blu-ray releases, but nothing has ever surfaced. The original cut of Cherry Falls remains one of horror cinema's most lusted-after films that we'll sadly never get to experience.
