10 Original Cuts Of Horror Movies We'll Sadly Never See

7. Sleepaway Camp 3: Teenage Wasteland (Uncensored Version)

The original Sleepaway Camp was a gruesome, yet surprisingly not very graphic entry into the slasher canon. The sequel however - Sleepaway Camp 2: Unhappy Campers - gleefully cranked up the gore and nudity to better reflect more comedic leanings.

Sadly, the third instalment was greeted with much greater hostility from censors and most of the film's gore gags were sadly excised, taking away the film's edge. This truly is a shame, because compared to the previous entries the death scenes are much more creative, making expert use of everything from lawnmowers to firecrackers and even a flagpole for good measure.

Both the first and second films have been fully restored for blu-ray in their uncut forms, but Sleepaway Camp 3 will sadly never get the same treatment.

This one is bending the rules slightly, as there exists a VHS work print that features the original graphic murders, but the footage is of considerably low quality and deemed incomplete.

Both of the recent Blu-ray releases of the film - via 88 Films and Shout Factory - feature the footage in some capacity, and the company Retrosploitation did release said VHS back in 2018, but all of editions are now out of print.
