10 Original Cuts Of Horror Movies We'll Sadly Never See

Wes Craven often struggled with both producers and censors during his storied career. Many of his films were subject to intense scrutiny by the powers that be, and his 2010 slasher-thriller My Soul to Take was no exception.

What was initially planned to be more of a moody, supernatural thriller that had a greater emphasis on its characters and dread-filled atmosphere, instead ended up being a mindless slasher that was content with going through the motions.

Studio interference quickly put an end to Craven's vision, and demands flooded in that the film better replicate the horror landscape of the time - which just so happened to be when the 3D gimmick was at the height of its popularity.

Not a whole lot is known about Craven's original film, and neither any plot details nor footage has surfaced in the ten years since its release. The film was subsequently re-shot and then post-converted into 3D to try and bolster ticket sales, but it ultimately proved to be both a critical and commercial failure.

If it weren't for Scream 4 the following year, My Soul to Take would have been Craven's final film, ending his career on a massive downer.
