One of the most popular musical artists of all-time, Prince has sold over 100 million records worldwide, won seven Grammys from 33 nominations and also picked up a Golden Globe and Academy Award for his endeavors. However, one thing that Prince is not, is an actor. With just three features and one concert film on his resume (the last of which came in 1990), the artist formerly known as The Artist Formerly Known as Prince still managed to rack up ten Razzie nominations during his brief big-screen career culminating in three wins, all for ill-judged vanity project Under the Cherry Moon. A mere two years after the cult classic Purple Rain found box office success and earned its leading man the last-ever Academy Award for Best Original Song Score in 1984, Prince 'won' the Razzies for Worst Actor, Worst Director and Worst Original Song for Under The Cherry Moon. His next, and final, feature film - Graffiti Bridge - saw Prince nominated for Worst Actor, Worst Director and Worst Screenplay, culminating in the ignominy of being named on the shortlist for Worst Actor Of The Century in the year 2000. No wonder he's stayed off the big-screen for the last quarter of a century...
I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
