8. Drax The Destroyer
Though it feels like we have known the Guardians of the Galaxy from the very beginning of the franchise, there has actually been very little in regards to backstories seen from any of the characters. Sure, we love Drax right now, but would the feeling change if we were to see him before he joined his new family?
When we meet Dave Bautista's character in the first Guardians movie, he is one of the most feared inmates in a prison full of feared inmates. Though he has grown to be mainly comic relief in the franchise, there was a time when he was a cold blooded killer.
Drax was a family man with a loving wife and daughter, before Ronan the Accuser murdered them on the order of Thanos. But how did he go from this to becoming locked up in the Kyln and known as The Destroyer?
Drax's backstory is one that deserves to be told, and going by his interaction with Mantis in Volume 2, would be utterly heart breaking. Any opportunity for more Drax would be welcome, since the character may well meet his demise in Guardians Volume 3.
