10 Other MCU Prequels We'd Like To See
Could the next Avengers movie be the Secret Avengers?
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been around for over a decade now, and has introduced many, many incredible characters. From the Avengers, to the Guardians of the Galaxy, and everyone else that Doctor Strange brought to the fight against Thanos, there are literally dozens of heroes that have graced the big screen and stolen our hearts.
Yet, despite the unprecedented set up of the MCU allowing these characters more screen time than any comic book heroes before them, we still don't know everything there is to know about them. There are gaps in the history of these heroes that need exploring.
While Phase Four and beyond is set to bring the focus of the franchise onto new heroes, like Shang-Chi, the Eternals, and more, the upcoming release of Black Widow has proved that there is room in the MCU's future to visit the past.
Natasha is one of the most mysterious characters in the franchise, but she certainly isn't the only one we don't know enough about. Whether they have lived for thousands of years before their MCU debut, or simply haven't had their full stories told, there are plenty of characters Marvel Studios could base more Black Widow-esque prequels around.
10. Odin Allfather
When Thor released in 2011, Marvel Studios decided to cast the relatively unknown duo of Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston as Thor and Loki, and while they have both grown to be stars ever since, the studio brought in an established acting powerhouse to play their father.
Anthony Hopkins is one of the strongest actors to have ever graced the MCU, which is truly saying something, but there is a feeling that he has been underused in the role of Odin. While he has been incredible when on screen, the actor and the character both have so much potential to tell many, many more stories.
In Infinity War, Thor confirmed that he is 1500 years old, so Odin must have a few thousand years on his first born son. Just think of the history of, not only the character, but of Asgard that could be told in an Allfather prequel. The battles he has fought and the wars he has won.
The greatest potential aspect however, would be a deeper insight into Odin's relationship with Hela. Their rule together, their ultimate fallout, and the banishment of his daughter to Hel has been hinted at, but still has the potential to be explored further. Who could say no to Anthony Hopkins and Cate Blanchett co-starring together?
