10 Outlandish Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice Rumours

3. General Zod Is Doomsday

Superman breaking the neck of General Zod at the end of Man of Steel resulted in a fair bit of backlash from comic book fans who were upset to see their favourite DC Comics superhero take the life of one of his villains. Based on this rumour though, Zack Snyder may have had a very good reason for making sure that Zod didn't make it to the end credits alive. One recent report claims that Lex Luthor steals his corpse in order to see if he can find any weaknesses in Kryptonian biology which can be used against Superman. Somewhere along the way though, he apparently "triggers the Doomsday genome", and Michael Shannon's Zod is apparently reanimated as the monstrous foe who killed Supes in the comics. This one does actually make a lot of sense, and it would be a neat way of tying together the events of Man Of Steel and Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice. There were actually rumours of Shannon being on set briefly during production, and while this origin story for Doomsday is different to that of his comic book counterpart, it could work really well.
