Starfox, also known as Eros, is the brother of Thanos and a rather roguish (if generally good) character, and another of the key names that could fill the father line on Star-Lord's birth certificate. 

In print he's an occasional Avenger, who has fought against his sibling, so he could certainly be introduced in that regard. The main basis for him being Quill's father is his power of 'pleasure stimulation', which can cause a state of total euphoria, and that could lead to the description of him being like an angel, surrounded in light. He's also a member of the Eternals, which could fit with Nova Prime saying that Quill belongs to a race far more ancient than anything they've seen before.

Starfox would work very well as Star-Lord's father, explaining his own rogue nature and womanising ways, while having Thanos be his uncle would be one heck of a plot twist. It actually makes a lot of sense.
