5. Jack Sparrow - Pirates Of The Caribbean Series

Pirates Of The Caribbean - a movie to entertain all ages, lead by Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightly and Geoffrey Rush. As many people already know, the movie was based off of the Disneyland ride of the same name. An interesting choice for an adaptation if I've ever seen one! The original concept for the ride, as designed by Walt Disney and associates, was to be a walk-through attraction, giving park guests a look into pirate life. As part of the original concept, a pirate captain was to be seen within the captain's quarters of the ship. Tat captain character was inspired by Bartholomew Roberts, a pirate captain who captured over 400 ships in the 1700s. Since its original conception, the ride has changed drastically, now involving the characters created for the movie in each version of the ride. But the origins of Jack Sparrow, captain of the Black Pearl, can in fact be traced back to Bartholomew Roberts, pirate king. As an added bonus, Johnny Depp has said multiple times that his portrayal of Jack Sparrow is also inspired by Keith Richards, who went on to play Jack Sparrow's father in Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End.
