10 Outrageously Over-Acted Moments In The Amazing Spider-Man 2
5. Spidey's Bravado
Spider-Man has always been known in the comics for his wittiness in dangerous situations. It's a tool he uses to gain a psychological advantage over his opponents and a way to make the people he is trying to save feel at ease. Andrew Garfield does his best to portray this side of the titular hero, but it sometimes comes across as Spidey being too cocky and complacent thanks to the somewhat over-the-top manner in which he conveys it. Don't get us wrong, it's a fun part of the character, and what Garfield does with it, he does well, but it's not really presented in the same way as it is in the comics. He does it for the same reasons, but when Spidey does it in the comics you always sense a vulnerability in him and you can tell it's an act that provides a means to an end. The bravado seems to come far too naturally to Garfield's Spidey.
