10 Overblown Film Directors Who Need To Learn The Meaning Of Restraint

9. Bryan Singer

Bryan Singer has done some amazing things for comic book movies. Before he directed X-Men and X2, most adaptations of Marvel comics had been laughed off as embarrassing and cringe-worthy, but with Singer's first adaptation of Professor Xavier's team, comic book movies grew up and hit it big with mainstream audiences. We all know what happened to the X-Men when Singer left the franchise though. X-Men: The Last Stand, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, X-Men: First Class... more colons than you can shake a stick at! Singer is now back in the mutant camp with his upcoming film X-Men: Days of Future Past, which will unite cast members from both First Class and the original trilogy for an era-spanning adaptation of the classic comic arc... Fanboys everywhere are drooling at the prospect, but there are some concerns regarding the large cast. Empire recently unveiled 25 different covers promoting the film, each displaying a different character. It's usually hard enough to juggle ensembles as it is and we all remember what happened last time a super hero film was crammed with too many characters. COUGH COUGH Spider-Man 3 COUGH AHEM. Calm it Singer. Just calm it down. Sometimes less is more.
