6. Matthew McConaughey
After a period akin to "forever," Matthew McConaughey - frequently ridiculed as an actor of little worth - has finally hit is stride. And
my oh my, what a stride it's been! Here's an actor who consciously decided to stop making movies that he felt he couldn't be proud of, and launched into what has got to be one of the greatest career turnarounds of recent times. Gone is McConaughey the uninspired hack; hello McConaughey the actor. So whereas his turns in movies like
Magic Mike, Mud, Killer Joe and
The Paper Boy have all been met with critical acclaim, I believe that now's the perfect time for this actor to slow down, given that he appeared in five films last year alone. We'll next see him in Scorsese's
Wolf of Wall Street and Christopher Nolan's
Interstellar in 2014, so there's work in the pipeline - I'd just hate for this guy to overload on projects, to the point where it all begins to merge together.
