10 Overlooked Positives Of Batman Forever

1. At Least It's Not Batman And Robin

Warner Bros.

This one works on most comic book adaptations. Sure, it's bad, but is it Batman And Robin bad? By no-one's standards is Batman Forever as bad as Batman And Robin. In fact, in some places, it's downright good. Had Schumacher continued with the same tone and aesthetic, a proper sequel to Batman Forever wouldn't have been entirelyunwarranted or unwelcome. After all, it did well enough to get itself a sequel.

Unfortunately, that all went to pot with the massive increase in puns, Chris O' Donnell and nipple-y Batsuits. Add to that an even worse Batgirl and bastardisation of Bane, and what we have on our plate is one of the worst comic book movies of all time. Batman And Robin may have ruined Schumacher and the Bat's reputation (and rightly so) but we shouldn't let that sour our memories of Batman Forever.

Lest we forget otherwise respectable film critic and personality Jonathan Ross once labelled Batman Forever 'film of the year'. Although, you know, it was 1995.
