9. It's Genuinely Creepy

The second Ghostbusters film has a much darker tone than the first film, indulging in some sinister shocks throughout that are often legitimately unsettling.

There's Janosz (Peter MacNicol) getting possessed by Vigo and flashing his creepy eyes outside of Dana's apartment, all those severed heads that randomly show up when the Ghostbusters investigate the subway (not to mention the arrival of a ghost train), and perhaps most creepily, Dana's baby Oscar is kidnapped by a ghost resembling Janosz dressed up as a nanny.

These scenes walk a fine line between being fun and actually scary, especially if you first saw the movie as a youngster. It's a subtle shift from the original film's tone and very much welcome.
