10 Overlooked Positives Of The Matrix Revolutions
8. The Direction Is Still Awesome
Even though Revolutions wasn't overall as narratively water-tight or compelling as the prior two movies, it's still dripping with passion and verve from a stylistic standpoint.
While it's somewhat evident the Wachowskis had to cobble together two more movies worth of plot relatively quickly, their direction never really falters at all, making good on the insane, visually eye-melting set-pieces, resulting in many memorable shots that also function well as mere still images.
Though some aspects of the film's style may seem a little on the cliched side by now, it's important to remember that the Wachowskis helped bring wire-fu and bullet time to the masses, and as part of that legacy, Revolutions feels like a bats*** crazy anime come to life, which is exactly what they intended.
