10 Overlooked Positives Of The Matrix Revolutions

7. Ian Bliss' Excellent Performance As Bane

The Matrix Revolutions Trinity Bane
Warner Bros.

Arguably the most-ignored and under-appreciated aspect of the entire movie is Ian Bliss' magnificent performance as Bane, who of course has been internally assimilated by Agent Smith in the real world.

Bliss' performance is initially sinister and creepy before he launches into a spot-on Smith impression once he's rumbled by Neo. His "Mr. Anderson..." in particular is basically note-perfect.

The intonation and physical mannerisms are scarily good, and create a welcome compromise where Smith's presence can be felt outside of the Matrix.

It continue to be a damn shame Bliss isn't singled out more for giving one of the best performances in not just Revolutions, but the entire Matrix trilogy.
