10 Most Overrated Actors In Hollywood

5. Samuel L. Jackson

If there's one thing that can be said about Samuel L. Jackson it's that he's nothing if not a hugely prolific actor. Since his career began he has appeared in over 100 movies earning more than $10 billion combined. Best known for his motor-mouthed, wise cracking roles as epitomised in Pulp Fiction, Jackson carved out his niche early in his career and has frequently fallen back on these stereotypical roles a few times too many. Much in the same way an actor like John Wayne established an on-screen persona he could return to time and again, so too does Jackson mine the same territory in many of his performances - after so many it starts to look like he's switching on the autopilot. When given a chance to shine, Samuel L. Jackson has proven himself capable of rising above the typecast roles which are clearly his bread and butter - it's a shame he doesn't stretch himself more often, or at least playfully send up his image as with Snakes On A Plane.
