10. Burning
Examples: Halloween 2, Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan, The Hills Have Eyes, Red Dragon. Burning isn't exactly the most regularly inflicted wound in horror movies, but it occurs often enough to feature here. It's also something that occurs in many ways - not just through the use of fire as you would expect - and is a horrific torture to endure. As well as fire (an example of which could come from The Hills Have Eyes, when "Big Bob" is set alight by the nuclear hill mutants), there have also been incidents in which scalding hot water has been used to burn people - such as in the original Halloween 2 when Michael Myers drowns nurse Karen Bailey in a scalding hot tub. A more unique example of a burn wound would be from Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan. The masked killer enters a sauna and kills a young boxer by slamming a boiling hot rock into his abdomen. Although such injuries have resulted in death, they would have been extremely painful to endure prior to the characters' demises.
