10 Painfully Long Movie Marathons You Have To Do At Least Once

1. James Bond - 3042 Minutes

The Films: Dr. No, From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, On Her Majesty€™s Secret Service, Diamonds Are Forever, Live And Let Die, The Man With The Golden Gun, The Spy Who Loved Me, Moonraker, For Your Eyes Only, Octopussy, A View To A Kill, The Living Daylights, Licence To Kill, GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough, Die Another Day, Casino Royale, Quantum Of Solace, Skyfall, Spectre

Just How Long? 50.7 Hours

Why You Have To Try It: This may seem like a joke, but some crazy people have actually attempted it. To celebrate the release of Casino Royale in 2006, Nick De Semlyen, Chris Hewitt, and Sam Toy of Empire Magazine sat down and did the then twenty strong Bond franchise in one go.

Now it'€™s even more daunting, pushing to well over two days of cinema. In the spirit of health, I would suggest being a little less strict in your viewing than they were; there was only a five minute break (upped to twenty every five films) allowed between each movie. The Bond series is a great view into how cinema has changed over the past fifty years, making exciting gadgets and scene chewing villains a lucky bonus.

With Bond now a rare sight on TV (in the UK Sky outbid ITV for the rights, leaving the terrestrial channel with a massive Saturday afternoon void each week) and hard to watch in its entirety, this a good (if not painless) way to definitively say you've seen the lot.
