10 Past MCU Moments That Will Mean Something Big In Phase 4 And Beyond

In the comics, Wanda Maximoff, or the Scarlet Witch, was somebody who went insane after losing both her children and single-handedly caused the Avengers to break up after killing heroes like Hawkeye and Ant-Man. Knowing this, and after seeing the events of Wandavision, the MCU is likely building her up to be that same villain we’ve seen in the comics.

During the finale of Wandavision, we see Wanda’s past and everything that’s happened in her life that’s led to her actions on Westview, leading to a battle against Agatha Harkness and her subsequent transformation into the Scarlet Witch.

Afterward, she's forced to realize that her lover is dead and both her children are just figments of her magic. This was an excruciating thing for her to do; however, during the post-credits scene, we see how Wanda hasn't given up on seeing them again as we see her using the dark arts to presumably find a way to bring her husband and children back.

If the comics are anything to lead off, this moment puts the pieces necessary for Wanda to become a proper villain later on. Something that seems even more likely as she will be playing a significant role in the upcoming Doctor Strange movie.
